Some places don't belong on a map. They belong in the stories people tell, in the songs that always find their way back onto the playlist, in the smell of smoke clinging to old sweatshirts long after summer is over. For Josie and her five best friends, that place has always been Pine-a weathered cedar cabin hidden between towering pines on the shore of Blackwater Lake. Every August, they return to the same creaky dock, the same canoe, the same inside jokes no one remembers the beginning of, convinced that some traditions are too familiar to ever change. This year is no different. At least, that's what they tell themselves. As golden evenings fade into cooler nights, old feelings begin to surface, memories are made a little more carefully than before, and every ordinary moment starts to feel like something worth holding onto. Because some places become home long before you realize you're about to leave them. The Last August at Pine is a nostalgic coming-of-age novel about friendship, first love, growing up, and the kind of summer that quietly stays with you forever.

Cherry thought she was in for a quiet family fishing weekend at their lakeside cabin. No phones, no social media, just a peaceful ritual they had shared for years. But the lake has secrets it has been keeping since the 1960s-and the campfire legends are about to become a waking nightmare. On the very first night, their dog Rusteene vanishes without a sound into the dark woods. By morning, the illusion of safety is shattered: impossible claw marks scar the cabin walls, and the neighbors find their porch completely torn apart, stained with a dark, terrifying blood. When the local sheriff, Ralf Stewart, forces the family into a pact of silence, the truth becomes a deadly weapon. The media won't help them-the last people who tried to contact the press were laughed at and driven out of town. Cut off from the world and trapped by a secret no one else will believe, the Storme family must face a ancient predator that has finally decided to rise from the depths. The water looks calm. But it is waiting.

Kalyani Chopra has been living in Pennsylvania for years. She thought she knew every nook and cranny of the state, but thanks to an abrupt house opportunity, she learns that she's moving to Fir Hills, a town she's never even heard of. The neighborhood reeks of fear. Everyone's on edge- they take simple things too seriously but normalize oddities and freak occurrences. When Kalyani finds a strange book at the library, she uncovers a dark, tragic tale, one that casts a shadow she'd never asked for. The more she learns about the town and its history, the more distant her answers get, and it becomes unclear whether she can ever find out the truth of what happened all those years ago. Would she be willing to test everything? Would she help everyone by risking herself to the whispers? Turns out this town was not what she had thought at all.

Okay going on the spooky side for this story, and Logan Henderson is going to be a apart of it as well. Logan was out for a walk one crisp fall day, and he took a interesting path just to see where it was going to take him. He heard the leaves crunch under him as he was walking. As he continued to head deeper in the woods he sees a lake, and there was a little island between the lake and the woods. Logan went to see if there was a boat he could take to get over to the island, and he sees a small row boat he could take and he gets in and he heads to the island as he gets closer to the island he hears cries of a little girl coming from inside the island and he goes to where the cries are cause the island is not very big at all. As he gets closer he finds a little girl and it looks like her clothes were ripped, and she had something in her mouth to stop her from screaming for. Logan doesn't waste anytime breaking her free from her prison. Once she is free she runs into his arms. Logan spots a cabin on the other side of the lake so he heads there with her in tow of course. Logan parks the boat he sees he is close to his car, so he heads in the cabin with her since he packed some clothes for the night. He changes her and tucks her in How will Logan recover from this horror read and find out

Kat Blackwood just made the biggest mistake of her life. A weekend in Las Vegas was supposed to be all about celebrating her best friend getting married to the love of her life. Instead, Kat wakes up with a wedding ring, a marriage certificate, and a husband she just met yesterday. Her father is powerful, surely he can help sweep it under the rug and get a quick annulment right? Wrong. Instead, she gets an ultimatum. Ivan Blackwood has spent decades building his family's empire, and the last thing he needs is a scandal threatening a major business deal. If Kat wants to remain part of the family and keep access to the life she's always known, she'll stay married for one year. Moving to Jasper Blake's quiet small town should be the easy part. Becoming friends with her accidental husband? No problem. Falling for him? That was never part of the deal. __ Jasper Blake never expected a bachelor party in Vegas to change his life. He planned to have a few drinks, gamble a little, and head home to the struggling family ranch he'd do anything to save. Instead, he wakes up married to a gorgeous, wildly out-of-place heiress. When Kat's father offers him enough money to keep the ranch afloat, as long as the marriage lasts a year, it's an offer he can't afford to refuse. Keeping the marriage strictly business should be simple. Until the city girl starts feeling like home. As the months pass, their fake marriage begins to feel dangerously real. But with Kat's return to her old life looming closer every day, they'll have to decide if what happened in Vegas was the biggest mistake of their lives or the best thing that ever happened to them.

"Dreams feel real while we're in them. It's only when we wake up that we realize something was actually strange." Amy Green is a small town girl, starting her freshman year all alone in a big prestigious high school. Then suddenly, when the humble town of Hazelbrookes has a population surge with hundreds of rich, beautiful people moving into her life, all that changes. Something is off about the new kids in town, and it's not just their inhuman attractiveness. At first, it's subtle little things that cue Amy in, like how they never eat anything, or how they all have overwhelming amounts of charisma that tend to allure even the strongest willed people to them. Nothing too big. But after the boy Amy crushes on (or rather, feels the biggest pull to) bites her in the nurse's office at school, she realizes that everything is way bigger than she had originally expected.

A ROMANTIC YOGA MYSTERY INFUSED BY NATURE Morgan has become settled in her quiet life in Sutton, Massachusetts. Her peaceful morning yoga routine is assisted by her cat, Juliet. In the evening she guides her kayak across the placid surface of Lake Singletary. Everything is in its place. When Morgan stumbles across a dead body in the shadowy depths of Sutton Woods, her stability is knocked askew. Jason, the ranger who comes to her aid, provides a steady rock of support. The death seems at first an accident, but Morgan knows in her heart that a delicate strut of life has fallen out of balance. As Morgan and Jason delve into the mystery, still waters are stirred. Danger billows from the depths of Purgatory Chasm, from the twisted histories that stretch back decades. Can they unravel the tangled skeins before the past catches up with them? All author's proceeds of this series benefit battered women's shelters. Aspen Allegations is the first novel in the award-winning Sutton Massachusetts Mystery series. It is followed by Birch Blackguards. All novels in the Sutton Massachusetts Mystery series are written in a boots-on-the-ground, chapter-a-day format. On November 1st, author Lisa Shea went to the Sutton woods, hiked through them, and then that evening she wrote up the actual sights and sounds of that visit. That was Chapter One. The same process held true for each subsequent day and location. By November 30th the book was laid out. Each book captures a moment in time; as a whole the series shows the progression of events, news, and nature in Sutton over the years. Lisa has lived in Sutton for nearly two decades and strives to craft stories which transport readers to her beautiful town. She offers a glimpse into Sutton's combination of centuries-old history and a modern, sliced-through-by-a-busy-highway existence.
