It had been about seven years since the incident. Seven years in isolation from those like myself. Seven years running. Seven years running from who I was. Who I was supposed to become. As I sat and gazed at the stars above my head, I decided it would come to a stop. I wouldn’t run anymore. The stars twinkled in contrast to the night sky. My father once told me that those stars that twinkled were about to die, and they, too, would fade into the darkness in a matter of time. He also added that there were some stars that would be around for millions of years, those were the diamonds. I knew that eventually what happened would happen. But never did I think it would be so soon, and so violent. I never thought I would be the only Diamond left.

She doesn't know if she's hunting him or if he's hunting her. Sometimes it feels like both. He wiped out her entire family as punishment for her escape and captured her five year old nephew as bait. Attacked the Pack that's given her shelter. Taken things that Anne doesn't know she'll ever be able to take back from him and hurt her in ways that she isn't sure she'll ever fully heal. The American Pack who offered her shelter have now accepted her and the other survivor. She has to find a way to get strong again and heal the scars that don't show... she has to rescue her nephew, marry her mate, and somehow not go crazy or get recaptured. The Hunter and the Hunted... now, somehow, Anne has to find a way to tip the scales so that she alone is the Hunter.
