I've been obsessed with books for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid I read everything I could get my hands on, and as I got older my particular love became the so-called 'cosy crime' genre, particularly Agatha Christie (I'd read all 66 of her novels before my 21st birthday). But it's not just the crime genre that I love; I still read all sorts of stuff across a whole plethora of genres, from classics to dystopian futuristic, horror and fantasy to romance and farce. Now I'm in my thirties, and just about every inch of my house is crammed full of books; something that is a constant source of annoyance to my husband, who unfortunately hasn't been bitten by the bibliophile bug like I have.

During my teens my love of reading manifested itself into a new love: creative writing. These stories I'd been poring over for years made me realise I had a love of making up stories all of my own. I wrote my first novel when I was 16 which, looking back over it now, makes me cringe with dread and its hammy writing style, but nonetheless it was a starting point to a love of writing that has only grown since then.

Funnily enough I've always been a bit uncomfortable about sharing my writing with anyone. At first writing just felt like something for me to enjoy. But there have been things I've written in the past that I had to share with other people as a matter of course - speeches, quiz nights, the odd murder mystery dinner party or two - and these always seemed to go down well, so it occurred to me that maybe a few people might be interested in reading some of my creative writing, too.

So I have submitted just a few examples of things I've been working on. You'll notice I tend to dip in and out of different styles: classic whodunnit mysteries to young adult fantasy, I just write whatever story happens to come into my head. If you're interested please feel free to read, vote and leave me any comments you have. I'll be thrilled to hear from any of you!

Happy reading!
