Caitlynn Victoria Tomlinson began telling stories as soon as she could speak, putting on hour-long puppet shows in her living room from the time she was three years old. When she was eight years old, however, she was diagnosed with ADHD which led to her being bullied by her classmates, teachers, and administrators. This led Caitlynn to fall into a state of depression and give up on school. Unsatisfied with how the local schools were tending to her daughter's needs, Caitlynn's mother pulled her out of school and began homeschooling her. In an effort to try and reengage Caitlynn's interest in school, her mother challenged her to write a story about American history from the perspective of a girl around her age. Though uninterested in history or school, Caitlynn still loved telling stories and took her mother up on the challenge. Her mother only asked her to write one page; she ended up writing five. From that moment, she has been hooked on writing and has been unable to stop to this day.
