Hey everyone, I know I haven't posted a lot here (i've been busy with school and I probably won't be as active), but there's something we need to talk about. Line 3. It's a pipeline by enbridge, a Canadian oil company, going straight through indigenous treaty lands in Mississipi (and other places). It's using the most dangerous oil and WILL spill in the water. These rivers are one of the only clean water sources for indigenous people in that area and it will connect to other clean water sources that other people in the USA need. Line 3 will most likely cause a water crisis. It will kill the animals and ecosystems. It's not being covered in the news so I encourage you to do your research. Go to https://www.stopline3.org/take-action . You can sign petitions, write emails, donate, spread awareness, even come to the front lines if you can! Time is running out. we need to STOP LINE 3!!!

Happy pride y’all! You’re valid and loved and I hope this month you can celebrate yourselves, other members of the lgbt+ community, and the queer and trans people who fought-and are fighting-for your rights. We love you all! ️‍️‍⚧️(and the many other sexualities and gender identities out there!)

It was bee day yesterday! We have an article published on bees which has a lot of cool info you should check out (https://www.wattpad.com/983402480-environmental-writing-10-2-20-species-of-the-week). For bee day, try to plant a native garden that bees like! Remember, don't use chemical pesticides. We need the little yellow bugs to life, people, so let's start saving them!

It's endangered species day! I would say happy, but it really isn't. Up to 150 species go extinct every day. It's horrifying, really. Here's a link to a list of endangered species: https://www.worldwildlife.org/species/directory?sort=extinction_status&direction=desc
          We have to stop this.

save_the_earth5

@EarthLoversCommunity Yes. I'm currently writing to the senator about taking action on trophy hunting.

@save_the_earth5 That's horrible! We must keep fighting for wolves as well...Well, I guess we should fight for all species to save them before it's too late

save_the_earth5

@EarthLoversCommunity Yes, totally! Also, wolves have been moved and removed off the endangered species list, even when they're numbers have been low. Wolf hunts around the country have been happening for many years, and at one point the only wolves in the lower 48 states lived near the great lakes.

It's national vegetarian week! Here are some things you can do to celebrate***:
          1. Start doing a meatless Monday (or any day of the week)
          2. Try to go vegetarian this week
          3. Stop eating red meat
          4. Go vegetarian!
          5. Buy a vegetarian/vegan cookbook to inspire you!
          6. Research where you get your meat and dairy to make sure you aren't supporting factory farms. Try and buy local!
          7. Only take what you can eat. Wasting food, especially meat, as well as being disrespectful to the animal that died for the meat, pollutes. A lot.
Being vegetarian/vegan is one of the biggest ways to reduce your carbon footprint, with the meat industry causing deforestation, polluting the land air and water, and releasing greenhouse gasses into the air. Not to mention most farms are inhumane and cruel to the animals raised. Reducing the amount of meat you eat, no matter how you do it, is valid and helpful. Please do what you can, if you can.

We have two articles about this with a lot of information about it and what you can do! It's called "The Meat Industry" and "The Meat Industry-revised"!

***Of course, if you aren't able to make changes regarding your diet please don't feel pressured to. It's important to recognize that going vegetarian, vegan, or making any changes to your diet is something only people with privilege can do. Don't feel bad if you can't make these changes!

@RewiredCritic Awesome! Being vegetarian/vegan is more of an idea, so it’s definitely okay to have cheat days!!
