Just published the first chapter of another original novel I'm working on (I've had the WORST writer's block for Fade into December by the way). It's an idea I've had for a very long time, and I'm hoping people will enjoy it :)

I just read something on Facebook (taken from Tumblr) that really upset me. And I want to share with you why.
Here's the short version of that story: a little boy saw a girl with her cut wrists and told her she was an angel, and that angels looked like that because they are sensitive to life's harshness.

I'm sorry, but no. Destroying your body like that does not make you an angel. That is your way of telling the world you gave up on dealing with life's problems. And to the people who posted that: why are you encouraging cutting like this? You're telling depressed girls and boys it's okay to harm themselves, that it's okay to hate yourself- because it means you are special.

You know what makes you special? Persevering. Getting through something in your life you know would've been impossible for somebody else. Fighting until the very end. That is special, because you showed everyone that you are strong. And angels are very strong indeed.
This is to my followers who may harm themselves right now: you are so much stronger than you think you are. Cutting doesn't help, or prove anything. If anything, it weakens you. Scars tell many stories, and you don't want yours telling people you gave up. Self harm is stupid. It's pointless. It does nothing as therapy.

Your body is your temple, treat it with respect, please.
