Hi, everyone. I've been a member of Wattpad for years but never quite knew how to use it. Now I'm diving in. I hope I do it right. I'm sure you'll let me know.

I write "compulsively readable thrillers" and have 11 novels and and over 20 short stories published. But... and this is important (at least to me).. I had no plans to be a fiction writer. It wasn't even Plan B. Funny about that. The story of how that happened is on my website.

In fact I've reinvented myself 4 times. I started out in broadcast news as an assistant film editor for NBC News in New York. Then I moved back to Washington DC where I grew up to work at PBS. I was retrained as an assistant director when Watergate broke (I'm not really that old) and helped produce PBS’s night-time broadcast of the hearings. My second reinvention took me to Chicago where I worked for public relations firm Burson-Marsteller for 8 years. I left there to start Fischer Hellmann Communications. (Are you still counting?) Then came my 4th reinvention, writing crime fiction. That one took.

I'm working on a new novel, and will post chapters as I go. But I'm also going to post chapters of EASY INNOCENCE. It's about high school girls and how far they go for acceptance from their peers. If that goes well, I'll follow up with NOBODY'S CHILD, which also deals with high school girls, but in a very different way.

My novels include the Ellie Foreman series, which I describe as a cross between "Desperate Housewives" and "24"; the Georgia Davis PI Series, which is more hard-boiled, and 3 historical stand-alone thrillers: Set The Night on Fire, A Bitter Veil, and Havana Lost. Lots of short stories too. Everything is available in paperback, ebook, and audio.

I also invite you to swing by Pinterest.com, where I have a board with "50 Free Fiction Writing Tips."

I have an apology to anyone who's been reading EASY INNOCENCE. I screwed up. The last chapter was a duplicate of the one before. I have now corrected it so that Chapter 56 is definitely the last chap...
