MACES AWARDS PARTICIPANTS/JUDGES! There is now one open slot in the horror/paranormal genre! If your book has any relevance to that genre, make sure to enter. 
          
          If there are more than one applicants for that genre, we will not be giving the spot on a first come first serve basis. Instead, we will check the relevance of each entry to the genre and pick the one that applies that genre to their book the most. We will also be checking to see if rules have been followed, because for this, we will not be providing reminders - your comment will simply be deleted. 
          
          As well as this, there are a few more open categories. The comedy/humor genre has 2 more slots left. The historical fiction genre has 4 more slots left. And the LGBTQ+ genre has 11 more slots left and open.

MACES AWARDS PARTICIPANTS/JUDGES! THIS IS AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING THE MACES AWARDS! THERE HAS BEEN A SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN HOW THE AWARDS WILL WORK! 
          
          As we are running extremely short on judges, we have decided to make a few changes to the rules and how the awards will work. The following information has been updated in the book, so you may always return there for reference. 
          
          ALL PARTICIPANTS ARE NOW REQUIRED TO read, vote, and comment on at least 3 chapters of a book written by their judge. This must be done within 48 hours of us announcing a specific genre’s entries and the assigned judge(s). 
          
          As for how the Maces Awards will work, THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE IN HOW WE WILL PROCEED WITH THE FIRST AND SECOND ROUND. Please read the following carefully to gain a clear understanding of it: 
          
          There will be 2 rounds in total, 16 entries per genre, and 4 judges per genre.
          
          ━ (Round One) ❝ In the first round, two judges will be chosen at random from the four that applied, both assigned their own, separate eight books from the genre they are judging. They will go through their assigned books for a quick check over basic writing principles, and will choose four books to make it to the second round based on the grammar and overall appeal of the book ❞
          
          ━ (Round Two) ❝ In the second round, all four judges will be assigned two books from the eight that were chosen to make it to the second round for their genre. Once every book is reviewed and graded, the scores from the reviews will be used to determine fourth place, third place, second place, and the winner ❞

MACES AWARDS PARTICIPANTS/JUDGES! A quick reminder that there is still one spot left in the mystery/thriller and vampire/werewolf genre. Enter your books as quickly as possible! 
          
          And if any participants are well-versed in how to review a book according to a criteria, please consider signing up to be a judge for our awards (see chapter “judging criteria” to get the gist of how books will be judged)!

AWARDS ASSASSINS! THIS IS AN EXTREMELY IMPORTANT MESSAGE REGARDING THE MACES AWARDS! 
          
          A couple of participants have withdrawn from the Maces Awards, and the full genres now have open slots - grab them as quickly as possible, because spots will be stolen very quickly! Here is a list of the previously full genres, that now have open slots: 
          
          ━ (Mystery/Thriller) ❝ Open spots = 1 ❞
          
          ━ (Romance) ❝ Open spots = 2 ❞
          
          ━ (Short Stories/Poetry) ❝ Open spots = 1 ❞
          
          ━ (Teen Fiction/Young Adult) ❝ Open spots = 1 ❞
          
          ━ (Vampire/Werewolf) ❝ Open spots = 1 ❞
          
          We are trying our best to update the “genres” chapter as much as we can so that no one gets confused. However, for now, we have deleted inline comments on the previously full genres stating that they were full. If you see that message on any of the genres listed above, then, unfortunately, someone else has reached and taken the open slot before you. 
          
          As for the rest of the genres, you can view the availability of them in the “genres” chapter in our awards book, as we have updated them and will be continuously doing so. 
          
          On another note, WE ARE IN DIRE NEED OF JUDGES! If you have good grammar, and the basic skill of analyzing a book and all its components to write a review for it, then please consider signing up to judge for any one of our genres that interest you. We are running extremely short, and all genres are currently open. If you’re a participant, and want to hasten the process of receiving results and prizes, then you may also sign up to be a judge for any genre that your book is not entered in.
