Hi everyone, I apologize for taking such a loooooooooong hiatus. In the last few months, I've been reevaluating the status of a lot of my stories and projects on this site, especially now that I've been concentrating a lot more energy on screenwriting under the new pen name of Ricky Barca.
          
          Unfortunately I'm going to be suspending the vast majority of my current Wattpad projects, with the exception of my ongoing fanfics, Hurts Like Heaven, Teen Ghost, and Mark of the Spider-Man. The Red Rain series, in particular, is getting a massive reboot, tooled as a story-within-a-story and very meta-fictional, inspired in part by my five years of failure to get it noticed by literary agents.
          
          So while I may still have precious little Wattpad presence going forward, I will still post some updates, even if they're sporadic at best.

“You hear something?” I ask nobody in particular as Melissa McCall hugs me, sobbing into my shoulder.
          
          Nobody in particular answers either. Maybe because the only other person is Melissa, who’s never been anything but human. I always sense things on a different level, beyond human perception, but this is different. This is weird. Spectral. Sub- or even superconscious.

As she drives, I find myself thinking of a Bible story, of all things. The story of Lazarus, to be precise. I think it might’ve been the last one read during a mass I was at - rather appropriate since it was only a couple of weeks or so after Gabe died. Coincidence, I’m sure. But that story about Jesus being so distressed when Lazarus died that he opened the tomb himself - a tomb not unlike the one He was buried in for three days later on - and calling for Lazarus to come forth? I think I’ve just been waiting for a chance to reenact this story for myself, and now that it’s the original Jesus who’s entombed, it’s my turn to be like Him to Josh’s Lazarus.
