RANT TIME!! About mental disorders and my spastic characters!
Okay, but guys, my writing style is weird. I know. I don’t like stories that spend twenty chapters going over the same single day. I like the fast plots, action packed, new day or event every chapter, kinda books! Yes that leaves for confusing stories sometimes, but I’d rather be confused than bored!
My characters are all brilliant, they’re all smarter than society depicts females, but just because they are smart DOES NOT MEAN that they aren’t oblivious! Speaking from experience, if someone has a high IQ, they normally have a low EQ! My characters all have mental issues of some sort, Adhd being the most pressing one, so they are all going to go on rants and info dumps, they’re going to get sidetracked and confused, get stuck in their heads or stuck overthinking whats happening instead of actually living in the present.
If you don’t have mental issues/disorders, if you don’t have adhd, good for you! You won’t understand why my characters bounce around and get confused and sidetracked, but for the underrepresented of us amazing humans who DO HAVE mental disorders that are glamorized and romanticized, they will understand, and they will appreciate that part of the story.
