Welton B. Marsland

Hi there, I'm Welton B. Marsland, a queer punk writer from Melbourne, Australia.  

I've been writing forever and getting stories, poetry, interviews and other pieces published here and there for quite a few years.  Along the way, I've also had a story on show at the National Gallery of Victoria, had another one banned in the state of Queensland, and spent three years covering the Melbourne International Comedy Festival as a reviewer.

I have a background in fandom - lurking in LOTR, Hornblower, Star Wars & Spartacus the tv series, and writing in Potterverse (Snarry and Tweasleys) and Supernatural.  My fics appeared in fandom spaces under the handles Barbarella, anal_cram_ink, and a_carnal_mink.  I credit fandom with teaching me more than almost any writing course I've ever taken did!

At the end of 2015, I self-published a short story collection about the punk clubs and pubs of Melbourne.  It's called MELBOURNE ROOMS and I still get a nerdy kick out of holding a book in my hands that has my name on the cover and its own ISBN.  :)  More about it here: https://amzn.to/2O6oghF

My debut novel, a queer love story set in 1890s Australia called BY THE CURRAWONG'S CALL, was released in November 2017 by Escape Publishing and has gone on to win the Romance category at the 2018 Bisexual Book Awards in New York this year.
