Heard that on April 30 - May 6, Wattpad is going to delete the PMs feature and while it sucked, the sheer amount of p3d0s talking to a WP community filled with minors to the brim is also honestly not surprising.
I have my fair share of reporting these vile accounts and most, if not all, stemmed from PMs. I had my own experience receiving such messages as well. It's sad but knowing that those people with ill-intentions are one of responsible for why Wattpad will remove the feature.
I don't use the PM feature that much unless the person is messaging me to report an account, I'm chatting someone I'm close to or is not a minor (which I'll be a non-tolerated minor acc [i.e. MINORS DNI] soon on my bday.)
Though Wattpad could've done something more than just removing the PMs altogether, like ACTUALLY paying attention to users who are collectively trying to report the account WITH evidence. PMs are actually quite helpful if you just wanna talk to someone or something related to fiction, or anything in particular.
But things can't be helped and yeah, it is what it is (?).
