          Jackal Eka just got featured on the @mythandlegend profile's Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month reading list! The stories featured celebrate an impressive spectrum of voices, heritages and cultures from the Asia-Pacific region and if you'd like to immerse yourself in all that richness, be sure to check out the reading lists! :3
          
          In other news, I'm pulling Upon Wings of Stone and Flux Form out of the ONC since I'm nowhere near 20k. I will be however trying to update them weekly till their completion. I'm glad I tried and got past Rounds One and Two. Anywho, chappie four of UWOS is en route!

          Soooo I may not be able to hit 20k on both my books realistically by April 25th. I will continue weekly updates till they're completed though. Maybe next time, I'll pick something I can actually chew and finish xd. 
          
          To those of y'all still in the run, keep at it! I hope I see many familiar faces in the shortlist and the longlist this year :D

When you almost miss the deadline because of your conjunctivitis but still make it. UWOS stands at 8k rn. 
          
          The plot is crawling along but we'll be speeding up  in a jiffy with the upcoming chapters. As of now, we have Akari reuniting with her humans!

@equinoxmoon I'm glad. I posted a day early just to make sure it went through. I'm about 12k in but I think mine is gonna be a bit longer than 20k so...yup. It's my mom's 2 year anniversary next week so I'm prepping a backlog in case grief hits like a truck. :L

Ultra special shoutout to both the Wandering Soul by @DianaTheThird and The Balance Game by @Nicoismysenpai, both of which were absolutely phenomenal reads that I adored which the ONC robbed of being Round One qualifiers. Run, and go show them some love, they're awesome reads with compelling, tragic ghost protagonists. The plotlines are really fresh.

          Ayyy homies, we made it! Both FF and UWOS have qualified for Round Two luckily. I was almost terrified that I wouldn't make it to the word count but here we are. Congratulations to all the qualifiers!!

@DianaTheThird That really sucks. You deserve an answer. Yeah, I'd probably give mine up too. I had to drop out of last years cuz my mum passed away but I still work on it ocassionally. Actually stunned I can write this year cuz chronic pain is dumb. I hope the WIP goes well and you try again next year. ^^

@CaptainSarcastic101 no problem. Well, this is the first time it's happening to me but I interacted with someone that said it was the second time in a row that it happened to them. I won’t bother asking the ambassadors why since last year people who were left out didn't find an answer when they reached out to them.
            
            I'm fine now and I'll continue to write my entry as a novel offline and update after I'm done with my current WIP. I only hope things will be better next year because what I really love about this contest is the way it pushes you to write and complete your story in a short period. If they eliminate people so early in the contest, it destroys the momentum. I saw many writers giving up writing their entry after this shocking elimination.

@DianaTheThird Sorry if I'm being too forward but it just seems really unfair. Is there an ONC ambassador you can reach out to? Surely, there's no harm in asking if it's happened more than once. I wouldn't wait til after the contest cuz of the amount of entries but normally they've got something down as notes I'm sure being polite might get some results. Or the message board. They nornally reply to that. I entered with ten minutes to spare a few years ago (I get sick a lot) and they clarified my entry when my WiFi was buggered. You deserve some answers but it's up to you if you wanna dig for them. Either way, all the best with the rewrite.
