Despite his frigidness and distant ways, there was always an air of charm that followed him. Even when he left, a ghost of his presence lingered in people's minds, in the form of curiousity and intrigue. A mystery wouldn't be the right term to use for him. No, it'd be best to describe him as an almost comprehensible mold of boy who meant well but could never show it. Still, most of those in the age he lived in were lucky enough to be spared from any feverent displays, as it would be a sight that would be impossible to erase from the memory.

despite the curse, jack developed an illustrious reputation academically. after his excellence in transfiguration, he was invited to the elusive slug club. he almost declined the offer but was encouraged by his parents to join. he did so, hesitantly. specifically because in the social aspect of his life, jack struggled and continues to struggle. being the only child and having kept to himself most of his life, he’s doomed himself to recluse. it’s also because while the imperius curse is technically “dormant” when no information is being fed to him, his subconscious seems detrimentally affected it, causing him to develop a self hatred and a sort of bitter personality that makes no sense to him. jack attempts to fight this, but it’s futile.
          	  
          	  so he’s an all around LOVELY guy.

the spell allowed jack some autonomy but only affected him upon information being disclosed. otherwise, he would be unaware of his actions when he is put in the daze. for extra precaution, filadelfo then used the fidelius charm on the family to prevent the interaction from being found through legilimency or any other alternatives. jack, along with his parents, became secret keepers to a secret they wouldn’t know of, and ultimately, would deem them unable to share this important information to anyone if forced.

JOHN SEBASTIAN EDWARDS (1960 - unk): commonly known as jack, is a muggleborn wizard from blackburn, lancashire, england to a rather poor family of farmers with his mother and father being beatrice and monroe edwards.
          	  
          	  before his first year at hogwarts even began, he and his family were ambushed on their drive down to london. filadelfo gamp and two other death eaters put the family under the imperius curse. jack’s parents were ordered to forget the ambushed occurred while jack was forced into a spy role. if he heard anything regarding the order of the phoenix’s plans against voldemort, he would report his findings (when he was able to) to filadelfo who would report to voldemort himself. who would suspect a muggleborn?

@demagie   [ upon receiving this information, his usual blank facial expression changes slightly, flashing a sign of embarrassment. this was a first. lifting a hand and waving it slightly, he shakes his head ]  that’s certainly not what i wanted to make. don’t… don’t worry about it. erm, good eye, astier  [ he looks around at the table, unfolding his arms. there was a new recipe?! failure seemed to approach him. how could he fix this swiftly? then again, what was the use? there’s was barely any time left of the class anyways, and he was dreading to see a disappointed slughorn ]  seems that observation came a little too late, however. thank you, though.

it looks like you’re making a potion for dreamless sleep.  * she walks over to where the cauldron is and reaches for the sheet with the recipe,   noticing the jagged edges of one side.  she skims through it before stopping halfway to look back up at him *   this is the old version of the recipe.   the updated recipe has an additional ingredient and recommends dried lavender.   mind if i ask where you got this from?
