getting mad over disney casting a person of color for a white character in a live action movie is ridiculous by itself (grow up, touch grass). but also why are we acting as if we're supposed to celebrate the "diversity" of a company that has proven time and time again it doesn't give a single fck about people of color and their stories???? the person casted will get the hate of their lives and the companies know that very well, but all they care about is the pat on the back that they're gonna get from audiences. it's hypocrisy at its finest. and it's just sad, especially when there are younger people involved.

@flowersthief well thats not at all what i said. most of the time when it comes to characters of color, their race is important to their character's story so replacing them with a white person does a disservice to the character and more often than not erases representation that's really important to the people of the same race and background. so take tiana for example since i originally mentioned disney movies; her being black is an integral part of her character and her background story. erasing it wouldn't make sense. ariel being white on the other hand is not in any way part of her character so she could be any race and nothing about her story would change. (obviously im talking about fictional characters btw. changing the race of real-life people is plain wrong.)
