Hi everyone, I've finally gotten around to posting again... this time it is the long-gestating first book in a trilogy entitled Antilla: Birth of Legends. It is a space opera tale that follows a squadron of trainee pilots as they embark on a journey from the humblest beginnings to seasoned combat pilots ready to put it all on the line for the common good.

Any genre that's been around for any significant amount of time - whether it's crime, sci-fi, superhero, or horror - is essentially defined by a series of clichés. The truly great genre writers don't avoid these clichés, they use them to their advantage, combining the genre's various conventions into a familiar formula that acts as a single blank canvas on which to paint a new, unique tale.
