            keilani felt a smile tug at the corners of her lips as she listened to adrinna , carefully rolling the hemp wrap between her fingers . 
            “  ouu , okay !  as a barista , i know / all / of the flirtatious signs .  did he write anything on your cup when he gave it to you ? like a little heart ,  maybe just a smiley ? “  she inquired as she moved to lightly lick the seam of the blunt ,  smoothing it over .  “  did you get his number ?  “

            “  oh ?  i’d love to join you , if you truly don’t mind .  i’ve been looking for more bands similar to yours to listen to .  “  she said ,  following just slightly behind him as he beckoned her to follow .   a wider smile from her in response to his grinning features ,  she would nod her head .  “  oh , of course !  and i did happen to post those photos from last time , too .  thank you again for that .  and for this opportunity to see you live again . “  her voice was gentle , and her expression softened just a bit at the look he gave her .  her eyes squinted just a bit as the apples of her cheeks pressed gently into them ,  indicating a smile  .  she knew he always put his all into his performances ,  the passion he would exhibit onstage was straight evidence of that .  it was something she admired   as a lot of artists  , as they came to be famous ,   eventually would fall off due to lack of effort in their performances over time .  she didn’t think kane would ever have that problem , truly .  he seemed to love what he did .             as they approached the backstage bar ,  her eyes panned toward the drink selection briefly before glancing back up towards him .  “  what do you usually indulge in after a show , hm ?  other than water , of course .  “  she said with a soft chuckle .  “  you don’t  strike me as a hard liquor kind of guy . “

            —   kane offered a smile ,  the lines on his cheeks forming a little more .  he had to chuckle at her tease about being late ,  shaking his head gently .  “ don’t worry .  i’m actually staying here for another band coming on in a bit ,  some good friends I made on a tour from before .  would you care to join me ?  “  he asked ,  in a playful and gentle tone .  “ let’s get us those drinks ,  too .  “  he added ,  starting to take a step towards an area backstage with a small bar .  he ushered for her to follow him ,  and grinned at her comment .  “ i really appreciate that ,  keilani .  you’ll have to show me them .  “  he always made sure to give his best performance ,  and embrace the music .  it made him happy to hear keilani’s words ,  and he gave her a warm look .

            a smile graced plush , glossed lips as the red headed male approached  .  “  it’s really my pleasure ,  it’s good to see you again ,  “  she began , voice soft ,  “  a drink might be nice , thank you .  as long as i’m not making you late to anything , of course .  “  she teased ,  as their previous encounter had his manager beckoning him back to the tour bus multiple times as she took pictures with him . “  you were amazing up there , as per .  i got some good videos ,  the lighting made you look / killer / .  “

            seeing his smile caused one of her own to form , raising her hands up . “  sorry , sorry , “  she said , before listening to his following words .  her smile turned into a half one , nodding with a look of sympathy .  “  yeah , just a rough day , huh ? i have those sometimes . i’m sorry it’s been meh , mattie .  you can crash on my couch if ya need a nap — and i’ve got some spare oatmeal in my cabinets ! the good kind , chocolate chip . we could reverse your bad day or something ! “  she offered , a grin taking over that half smile . “  you don’t even have to get up . i’m lowkey a chef .  “  she playfully boasted , though in all actuality , it was package oatmeal , hard to mess up .

            “Don’t laugh at me!” But her giggling did make him smile. He sat up and shook his head. “No, thanks, I’m fine. Just feeling all like, dramatic. Today’s kinda sucked. Not in any cool interesting way, just like, I tripped right after I woke up and then burned my oatmeal somehow and I woke up late so I didn’t have time to make more, put on my shirt backwards in a rush. And I slept in but I’m still tired!”

            her head would turn towards the empty chair , then glanced at the ticket in her hand .  “  oh — i suppose so ! it’s a little close to the front . . . i don’t think the ticket i paid for was this good , “  she admitted with a small laugh .  of course , anyone would take the front rows of seats without hesitation , but she didn’t want to accidentally take someone else’s seat . it was rare she ever got out  , especially to big events like these .
