नारायणं नमस्कृत्य नरं चैव नरोत्तमम् |
देवीं सरस्वतीं व्यासं ततो जय मुदीरयेत् ||
I bow down to Lord Krishna (Narayana) and his friend Arjuna (Nara) who is a supreme human being (Narottamam) and the goddess Mother Saraswati who has graced me by revealing the secrets of the Mahabharat and the writer Vyasa. After destroying all the negativities, one (you) should start chanting the epic, Mahabharata (Jaya)
