Writing is safe to me somehow. Because my pencil cannot stutter like my lips do, and words get stuck in my throat. I can trap my words inside my mouth, not fingertips. I can't stumble on paper, trails of blue lines. Because writing is definite and clear. I can express myself, pour my soul out on the paper. And people will know if I was crying while I wrote. Not because of the tears smearing the letters; but because of the depth of the words and the feelings attached to them. My feelings stick with the words and paper because I have nobody - not a soul - to listen to my whining. Paper does have more patience than people. And maybe the tattoos on my skin are more than just random drawings.
