   I couldn't possibly say whose fault it was.  Just know that someone is guilty.  Also,  someone stole my boomerang.

            Let me guess, it was the twins’ fault. And somehow also Lucky’s. Sheesh, what a wild bunch we’ve created. [  Emily is teasing Clint to his literal bone,  then shrugs it off.  ]  if it matters, I do believe you.

  [  his own smile grew into one less of shame when her expression changed, sort of relieved that he'd won her over. He extended his pinky finger towards her with a small chuckle.  ]   In fact, I pinky promise.

            [ she stares at him, trying not to give into his dumb—good—looking features. His smile stands out too much and, as if it were contagious, she’s catching herself slightly smiling back. ] okay, fine… Promise it.

  [  he gave a sheepish smile of apology to hopefully cover for the fact that he'd clearly frustrated her. Definitely his fault,  whoops.  ]    then i'd be at your beck and call for the week that you'd wear a crutch or something.  But anyway,  the point is that it didn't shoot you,  and I'll be more careful in the future.

     yeah  ..  you're right  .  it's just  —  scary  .    [  he looked at his knuckles that had already begun to bruise and sat down suddenly  ,  more shaken that someone almost caught him doing something awful rather than almost being robbed  .  or  ,  whatever his excuse was  .  ]    actually  .  i'm thirsty  .  i don't care about that guy anymore  .

            and now i’m his all time favourite,  [  teasing,  grinning from ear to ear.  her fingers drum on the dashboard,  humming to herself in thought..  ]  sooo,  about us improvising..  what do you feel like doing tonight?  

   i think you're thinking of someone else  .  i was just a guy concerned about his dog's health  !  you've seen how much pizza he eats  ,  it was only normal to check in  .  lucky liked seeing you too  .

            it’s been working on me for a while now..  you have to admit,  though,  you /did/ use lucky as an excuse to constantly see me when we first met.  /veterinary clinic check ups/.
