The Killing

By: Sam Tollett

Along a narrow road that winds through the tethered forest lies a land

A land that's full of fright

No people go nor people say

This town was once a vacation site

It is said that people might return one day

But for now, no people go because of the dangers that lay

In this land all tucked away lives a ferocious monster

No one alive can say what it is because the people who did ran away when they heard its roar

No one has had the courage to face the beast just yet

Alast a courageous soul they say has came up from the graveyards depths

He says he'll go  and kill the beast that haunts the village all day and night

And on he went through the winding road he hiked

Until he came about the town and wandered in to hear the loud roar of the wild beast

He shouted “ Come you beast and fight me unless you are too scared.”

And out it stomped a house cat

While this is a surprise he said then went to pick it up

As he touched it a tyrannosaur came and gobbled him up

The village waited day and day until his head came flying back

The village went in panic for the brave soul had gotten killed by the horrid beast

Who left us his head in message

We now know the land along the winding road through the tethered forest

Will no longer be a vacation site
