Chapter One - Restraint

Eren had no chance of backing down now. He had to keep fighting every single titan there's left in the world of humanity. He had to keep going. For Mikasa. For Armin.

Until...

"Eren! Please stop! This wasn't the plan! Stop! You will kill yourself!" Mikasa said, crying her tears out. The titan of Eren Yeager looked at Mikasa. What is she doing here? She was suppose to guard the Wall of Maria with the others! Eren thought.

"Eren! I know what you're thinking! You think I shouldn't be here and guarding the Wall of Maria with the others instead but I can't leave you here Eren! You're the only family I have! I can't lose you! Please stop!"

Damn it, Mikasa. Can't you see I'm trying to save humanity here!? These titans are the reason why our mom died! Can't you understand!? Eren said mentally in his mind.

"Eren...please! I can't afford to lose you! Please stop!" Mikasa said. Her voice was hoarse from yelling and her tears were glittering as they went down her precious face. Inside, Eren felt guilty. Should he stop?

"Please...Eren...stop." Suddenly, another titan came out of nowhere and started running towards Eren. Ready to fight and kill him. Eren then looked at the titan who was approaching very fast towards him. He then looked at Mikasa and back at the titan. He couldn't think straight! Until he said something mentally in his mind...

Screw it.

Eren changed back into his human form. Mikasa then widened her eyes. Eren listened to her. For the first time ever. He actually listened to her!

Eren then started to run from the titan and ran towards Mikasa. He noticed that Mikasa had a horse with her and had an idea.

"Ere-" But before Mikasa could speak, Eren grabbed her wrist and said, "Mikasa, we don't have time to speak to each other right now. There's a titan chasing us and we need to get on the horse and go back to the Wall of Maria." Eren said. Mikasa then wiped her tears away quickly and nodded at Eren.

Eren and Mikasa then went on the horse Mikasa was using and Mikasa wrapped her arms around Eren's waist. Eren took the reins and smacked it on the horse. The horse then started to jump and run fast. The titan was still chasing them but he was too far away from them now. Eren then started to focus on getting back to the Wall of Maria. But while he was focusing on getting there, he felt Mikasa's head tilt sideways on his back and started crying again.

"Mikasa." Eren said, while looking forward and still focusing on getting back to the Wall of Maria.

"What Eren? Are you going to apologize to me now? After all these years, you decided to leave me and not let me be by your side whenever you need it? You actually listened to me for the first time in years and decided to make it your own way? Don't you see that hurts? I've literally waited for you to smile and look at me and talking to me and-"

"MIKASA! LISTEN!" Mikasa then suddenly flinched and widened her eyes but still had her head sideways on Eren's back, her tears drying up from her crying.

"Mikasa, look. I'm sorry that I wasn't there for you...and for Armin. It was just so hard that mom got eaten by one of the titans and I felt guilty and felt like I wasn't a hero for her. I didn't want to feel like a person who was a coward for not saving their own mom from getting eaten by a titan. I just couldn't resist killing all of the titans. I felt like I needed revenge. Then, I screwed up. I guess everyone doesn't want to take a liking towards me now...no one will ever like me as an individual." Eren said, chuckling to himself softly.

Mikasa then quickly tilted her head back towards the back of Eren's hair and furrowed her eyebrows.

"Eren, you know that's not true." Mikasa said firmly, "You will always have a place where you can feel like you're needed. You have me and Armin. It's okay to be out of place sometimes but it's not okay to leave your family behind. Never. I understand that mom died but it's still not going to change everything with you killing every single titan there is in this world. It's impossible. This world wasn't made perfect, Eren. Me and Armin will always be by your side. Even if it's you trying to kill all the titans, count us in. We'll sacrifice everything we have left together."

"Mikasa..." Eren said softly but smiled. "Thanks."

"Eren, you can be so stupid sometimes. It makes me feel concerned." Mikasa said, smiling and giggling.

"Mikasa!" Eren said whining. "I'm not that stupid!"

"Well, you are." Mikasa said, giggling more. She loved how Eren can act like a child sometimes. It makes her stomach flutter. But after that, Eren looked dead in the face.

"What...?" Eren said, his voice going down to a whisper.

"What is it, Eren?" Mikasa said out of curiosity.

"Mikasa...look."

"Wha-" Mikasa then had a horrified look on her face. The Wall of Maria was falling apart and more titans were flooding in from the broken entrance of the Wall of Maria.

"DAMN IT!" Eren yelled. He then smacked the reins on the horse more harshly and the horse jumped again and ran faster than the normal speed it was doing. Mikasa then held on tight to Eren's waist, still looking horrified at the sight before them.

After arriving at the Wall of Maria, Eren and Mikasa got off the horse and ran immediately towards the broken entrance of the wall. As of doing that, the titans were smiling and grinning at them from above and blocking them from running towards the broken entrance of the Wall of Maria. They then started to throw out their hands and tried to successfully eat Eren and Mikasa. Mikasa then took out her blades and used her ODM gear. She used her ODM gear and swooped fast and used her blade and cut the Titans' nape since it was their weak spot. After successfully cutting all of it, she went back down to Eren.

"Eren, did you see the others?" Mikasa asked, running again with Eren and looking around, aware of the sight of any titans.

"No, I didn't. I know that Armin and the other members of the Scouting Regiment were guarding the gate but how did it break!?" Eren yelled.

Mikasa then said, "Eren, we need to separate and find the others. We can't stick together like this. The titans will eventually come at us and try to eat us both. It will be risky."

Eren then nodded at Mikasa.

"We're going to go the opposite direction. While doing that, Try and find Armin. And for me, I'll try and find the others. Got it?" Eren then nodded again. Mikasa was then about to run and find the others. But before she could do that, Eren pulled her arm and kissed her. Mikasa then widened her eyes suddenly and blushed. Eren let go and smiled at Mikasa.

Eren then said,"Mikasa, I know it's weird that I just kissed you and you're my adopted sister...but...I like you. I have always did."

Mikasa then blushed ten times more but she then smiled and kissed Eren one more time.

"Eren...I like you too."

Eren then smiled and looked at her beautiful face. He always thought it looked pretty.

After that moment they shared, everything started to rumble for a second. More titans were coming in.

"Eren, I need to go. Please stay safe for me." Mikasa said.

"I will. You too Mikasa." Eren said back. Mikasa looked at Eren one more time before Eren went the opposite direction.

Before Mikasa could run and find the others, she said in a soft whisper nobody could hear...only she could hear it. She said...

"This world is cruel...but it's also very beautiful. It was always like that...wasn't it?"

Mikasa then ran off to find the others. Not caring about Eren. She knows he will be safe in her arms. Safe where he felt like he was needed. She smiled to herself and went into the dangers of this cruel world.
