Fears of the Past

Prologue

Sunset didn't know what happened. One minute she had the crown and the power she had always wanted, and the next, she was overwhelmed by that very power she wished to posses. In her demon from, she could see everything but couldn't control anything she was doing. It was like looking outside a window.

As her demon prepared to blast the princess with her dark magic,the real sunset yelled 'No'.  This was not what she wanted. She never wanted to be a demon,a monster. All she wanted was to prove that she was worthy and that  she didn't need anyone to help her,but now all that backfired in a very dark evil kind of way.

She was so ever grateful and surprised at the same time when the princess and her friends brought her down with that rainbow laser.

Sunset got out of the crater with tears in her eyes. Her whole body ached like she had ran a hunderd mile race or got ran down by a bus or maybe  both . She flinched as she triedto move. I'm free, were the words that roamed her mind. Her thoughts were  interrupted by someone speaking. The fiery haired girl looked up to see the person who  defeated her or more likely the person who saved her,Princess Twilight Sparkle. After eight years of being in this world,after all this time she now saw her mistake. She could feel that she was now free, that she was relieved of some sort of heavy burden,and for that she will be forever in her gratitude.

"You lost Sunset Shimmer. What ever power you thought you had here is now loss" The ponified teen said with a cold glare while looking at the former she-demon. Sunset couldn't help but sob. She looked around to see everyone else giving her the same cold glare some looked disgusted, some looked mad and anger, but there was one person who had neither of those looks, no they had the look of pity in their eyes. Sunset would recognize that face anywere, but what confused the teen the most is why they would feel pity for her, after all she had done. Sunset looked away before they could see her. She then looked back at the princess and after over eight years she finally apologized for doing something wrong.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know that there was another way" She said while Twilight glare softened and the alternative dimension princess, lended her a hand which the firey  haired teen greatfully took. Twilight now having a soft smile displayed on her lips spoke."I bet they can teach you"

She said to the fiery haired girl. The other five girls still held their glares and just stood there looking at the former she-demon. Sunset could feel her heart tighten at this. She was about to make a run for it,when Principal Celestia and vice Principal Luna came to where she and twilight were thus bringing her plans to flew to an abrate halt. They gave her her crown which was rightfully hers all along. Sunset didn't notice, but she had a small smile tainted on her lips.

Luna then came up to sunset with snips and snails behind after the princess and the other student body had returned to the gym to contiune with the fall formal celebration, and tasked them to rebuilding the front of the school which the fiery haired girl had destroyed, with the bricks which were in the storage  shed for the construction class.

Nodding the three began their punishment with Sunset always letting out small groans when she moved her shoulders and waist, but kept it to herself, believing that she deserved it for trying to kill someone and nearly destroying the school. Unknown to her both principals were looking at her with very intrigued looks on there faces.

A while later Vice Principle Luna came and dismissed both snips and snails when they were half done with the wall and gave them a month of in school suspension with a promised phone call from their parents but with sunset, she knew would be different story all togerther. Sunset was very sure Principal celestia was going to expel her.... Heck she was sure she was going to jail for destroying public school property.

She was however surprised when the Principle gave her two month in school suspension along with her  accomplices. She didn't know what to say. Why would she do that for a girl who nearly destroyed the school and brainwashed everyone in it including the principles themselves and tried to use said brainwashed people for her own personal army to invade another world. In the Principle's office, sunset sat on one of the guest sits and faced the Principle Celestia who looked like a big mixture of anger,pain,confusion,hurt and pity.

"Now, Miss Shimmer. You know that in this type of sutiation l am at the least supposed to expel you..." She paused as she studied the teens expression. Sunset just looked down. "But l will not be doing that... If you tell me why you did it" Celestia said with seriousness in her tone. Sunset just sighed and hugged herself.

"I don't really know if that was me. I mean yeah,I was a bully and l was mean. I wanted power to prove to Princess celestia the pony version of you that l was worthy and that l didn't need anyone, l could do anything and everything on my own without any help.... but things got out of control. The whole 'turn into a raging she-demon' was not part of my plan though." The fiery haired teen spoke out not really going into much details. "Can l go now... please" She  said muttering the last part to herself. Principle celestia just nodded and sunset was out the door before she could even replied her answer.

    After that whole situation, sunset left without a word. She walked for at least 30munits before reaching an old unused subway that was at the outskirts of the town.

     A forest could be seen not too far away from there with leaves and vines clearly seen growing around the rails and broken down trains. 

She went into an old rundown train and entered into it. After the entry ,inside the robust train seemed to be room of some sort. Her room... if you could call it that,had nothing really special, just a few rugged clothes that she used as curtains, an old wooden desk that had a few books on it, a stand that she used to hang her jacket, a bed and beside it was a small wooden drawer. The inside of the train was painted purple.Her .... well room was dully lit with only one bulb,which wires was very hard to notice. The wire was linked up to a café a few miles away which sunset uses to leach power from to her little humble shelter.

She moved to another randown train which seemed to be makeshif bathroom of some sort.
There appered to be in place a sort of contration that reache that brought water from the small stream near the old subway to her. She took a quick cold shower aftet which she dried herself and put on her worn out  purple pj's.

Sunset sat on her bed starting into space, her mind raced, wondering were she had gone wrong. She was lucky that today was a friday,so she had two days of no school but she wasn't dumb,she knew what awaited her on that monday.

She couldn't help but let out those tearts that she had supressed ever since she got out of the school.

This was her life now. And it sucked really bad.
