THE YEAR IS 1994: a terrible mystery is afoot at Hogwarts, and Gryffindor sweetheart Pandora Selwyn is at the center of it all.
It's not by choice—because a mystery is very clearly the type of thing that must be kept secret, and, well... Pandora (darling, sweet Pandora) has never been very good with secrets. It's been that way for as long as she can remember; in fact, the only thing she can recall being able to keep a secret at all are her idiotic feelings for a stupid redhead by the name of Fred Weasley. The whole secret thing she has going on isn't on purpose, really—it's just that Pandora is the type of person who doesn't really have a filter, and more often than not, things end up just spilling out. She's found, anyways, that honesty truly is the best policy, and so she's pretty content avoiding secrets and lies.
But then, the summer before her sixth year arrives and in a whirlwind, she finds herself hurled face forward into a long series of unfortunate events—of which include the discovery of an unseemingly family heirloom, the implementation of a dastardly unromantic matchmaking plot, the return of the infamous Triwizard Tournament... and then, of course, the tiny little incident of her accidentally unleashing the seven deadly sins back into the world.
(Yes, she does mean the biblical ones...)
Sixth year was supposed to be the most fun yet, but now—as You-Know-Who and his wicked followers continue to cast a darkening shadow onto the Wizarding World, and with an imminent deadline set over her head, it seems the opposite is going to be true.
So, with reluctance, Pandora is forced to don her Sherlock cap and begin hunting down all seven of the escaped sins before they have the chance to wreak havoc on the world—or worse, before they fall into the hands of He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named himself.
And the cherry on top of the entire fucked up sundae? Among all the chaos, Pandora just can't seem to escape the clutches of the guy she's had feelings for since her third year—the same guy who has made it abundantly clear that he won't ever feel the same way...
