Desolation.
That's the first word I'd use to describe what I saw.
No one played on a rusted playground. No one milled about in the apartments above. Plants overran everything, even the middle of sidewalks. No cars drove on green streets.
How did I get here?
Just a moment ago, I was washing dishes in my kitchen, with my father reading the paper at the table and my sisters playing with their dolls on the floor.
Now, if I entered my home, I would find the dolls cracked and ruined on the floor, no loving girl having played with them for decades.
What had brought me here now? I'm so confused.
