AALIYAH LYNN ROSSI-LARUSSO was thirteen years old when her older half brother, Dante LaRusso, explained to her that their alcoholic mother, Nicole Rossi, died due to a car accident. Although her mother mentally and physically abused her, she was still sad that the only parent she had was gone. Since Dante was eighteen at the time, he was able to file for custody of his little sister. He would rather suffer trying to provide for her than have her in foster care. Dante LaRusso was the product of a one night stand between Nicole Rossi and Louie LaRusso Jr. He and his father never had a great relationship, but that didn't stop a bond from growing between the rest of the LaRusso's and the two siblings. Although, Dante was offered money and a place to stay on many occasions by his many family members, he always declined. He felt that raising and providing for Aaliyah was all on him. It was until Aaliyah transferred to West Valley High School, that he realized how much of a struggle it will be.
