RESERVED ISSUE no.14

 

      I was disturbed in my slumber by the feeling of something moving together with my body. I realized, we're in a car. And the car's moving. With Mattheo as the driver.

  My clothes are back covering my body. Isipin ko man na baka nananaginip lang ako. That we're just here in the car while all that thing's happening inside my head. But no. I know I wasn't dreaming when that happened.

  My aching core always reminds me that I ain't dreaming.

I just kept my eyes on the window of the car. I can't face him without breaking out. Not after what he did. Not after the pain he inflected.

  Hindi ko alam kung saan kami pupunta. Maybe this is the part where he'll drop me somewhere unoccupied and leave me there 'til I die.

   Pinikit ko ng maigi ang mata ko hoping that I would forget what I am thinking. Sobra-sobrang kinakabahan ako.

  I keep on thinking na hindi kayang gawin ito saakin ni Mattheo. Pero pinapaasa ko lang ang sarili ko.

  'Course he can. He can leave me alone and die. He can watch me die. Nakuha niyang kunin ang isang bagay na mahalaga saakin, sure he can leave me, even kill me.
 

    The car stopped. At mas lalong lumakas ang tibok ng puso ko nang makita ko nasa isang lumang warehouse kami huminto.

   Is this where I'll be left alone? And die?

    I'll die nang hindi manlang nakikita ang pamilya ko even just for one glance.

   My tears started falling from my eyes again.

  It's been one month nang huli kaming magkakasama, and it's breaking me not to be able to see them even before I close my eyes, permanently.

"Bumaba ka na diyan."

Nilingon ko siya nang pagbuksan niya ako ng pinto.

   His eyes were angry. Ngayon nalang ulit kami nagkatinginan after what happened last night.

I don't know what happened next since I just fell asleep after he violated me.
  Hindi ko alam kung inulit niya pa din ba yung ginawa niya sakin while I was asleep.

"I said get out, Mia." He said firmly.

Hindi na ako umangal at lumabas nalang. Even if I beg him for any changes, hindi din naman siya makikinig saakin. He'll still kill me if he wants to.
  Besides, there's nothing left in me to beg for. He already took it away. In one encounter.

   He held my left elbow and guided me towards the entrance. How I wish this cardiac arrest-like heartbeat I am experiencing right now would just take my life immediately. Para hindi na ako mahirapan pa.

  He pushed the wooden door open bago ako hinatak na naman papasok.
   

    "Bakit mo ito ginagawa? Why do you even have to seek for revenge? Pwede naman nating pag-usapan ang lahat ng nangyari."

  We heard voices inside a room. Sino naman kaya sila?

  Isa-isang binubuksan ni Mattheo ang mga pinto ng kwarto. Maybe to check kung nandito ang mga may-ari ng boses na naririnig namin.

   And a girl laughed. Kai? It was Kai. It was Kai's mocking laugh. I'm sure of that. She's here.

  "Really? Pag-usapan? Do you think what happened to me years ago ay madadala lang sa usap? Hindi ganun yun Ash. You and your dirtbag friends deserve the same pain I've had."
