Asher Johnathen Kreese didn't have a great life, but it was by no means the worst in the world.

He knew that his dad was a veteran from the Vietnam War, and he knew that his mom wasn't exactly the most stable person in the world.

After all, not very many moms would ask their young son for money the second that the poor kid would be walking into the grungy apartment that they both were stuck in and now occupying.

Asher knew that it wasn't normal, but he didn't exactly have any other great options for where to go, at least he did not, until his dad suddenly appears in the apartment one day and everythin' changes.

For better or for much worse, nobody could know. But, for the first time in a long time, Asher had hope for a better life.
