Brown.
It must be, he realised – he had never seen it before.
The colour of her eyes.
His soulmate's.
Shoulder length hair whips him in the nose as he spins trying to locate her.
There.
A soft smile breaks across his face while he takes in her bewildered expression.
He watches her turn her face upwards, absorbing the brilliant sky full of colour for the first time in her life.
t seems to dawn on her what's happening as she blinks twice, shakes her head and scans the faces around her.
Finally, finally, she notices him.
A delicate blush settles across ivory cheeks and her eyes (oh her eyes) widen even more before snapping to the ground, the red spreading to her ears.
He raises his eyebrows playfully when she snatches another glance.
She freezes, seemingly indecisive, but he releases a breath he didn't realise he was holding as she begins to wind her way through the sea of people between them, halting only when an arms length away.
She sizes him up, bites her lip, and whispers:
"Hi."
