Laney's POV:
A slap in the face woke me up.
"What was that for?" I asked in surprised, once I realized who was standing beside my bed.
"You didn't do the laundry! What am I going to wear?! " My stepmother slurred loudly.
"I'm sorry. I forgot." I said, my voice sounding small.
"You should be sorry!" She yelled once again, then started trying to beat me up in her drunken state.
"Oh are you going to cry? You little baby!" She said, while pulling my hair. Next thing I know, I felt something break over my head and the sound of breaking glass filled my ears.
I started to see black spots while she was still hitting me.
I felt liquid start to run from my head, but I didn't know if it was blood or sweat.
The last thing I saw before loosing consciousness was her attempting to walk out of my room.
