THE PROMISE

CHAPTER 1

Nathalie is 8 years old while Gabriel is 9.

December 1, 2004

GABRIEL POV.

It was a normal day well, not a very normal day. Today is Nathalie's birthday and I have a special gift for her. Nathalie and I are very close friends and I think I actually like her no, I think I love her today. I'm seeking out to our favorite place on top of a hill. That hill has a big tree and a swing on it and a bench to sit on. It's our favorite, maybe because it was the first place we meet and we can see a pretty like wonder land when it's sun set right now. I'm in our favorite spot waiting for Nathalie. I make use to be early minutes later. I feel something or someone hands cover my eyes.

Nathalie...

The one and only

"Happy birthday." I greeted and hug her)l.

"Thanks Gabe." She replied.

"Come on, I'll push you at the swing."

"Ok ."

I push Nathalie while she was on the swing and thought it was the perfect time to give here my gift so I stopped pushing.

"Is there something wrong gabe?"

"No, nothing was wrong Nathalie I just...i..."

"What is it Gabe? You know you can tell me."

"I  just will here" (give her my gift)

"Oh you don't have to gabe."

"I want to go on open it."

(Open the gift) "Oh Gabe it is pretty."

"I know."

"Where did you get this?"

"My grandma gave it to me."

"What then, I can accept it."

"No  it's my gift to you."

"But  it's from your grandma it must have a great sentimental value to you."

"No  it's ok my grandma told me to give it to someone especial."

"Then  way not your mom."

"She  has a million of those it's ok I promise."

"Ok  then but be free to ask for it back."

"Yeah  no."

"It's  to big."

"That's  why I bought a box so it won't get lost and you can save it until we grow up ."

"Oh  ok oh look at the time your parents must be looking for you."

"Oh  yeah ok same time and place tomorrow."

"Of  course."

"Happy birthday my Nathalie." (kiss his  check)

"Bye." 

We both say goodbye and I head back to my house but what I heard when I was back change my life forever.
