Mare can sing and draw in this story. I felt she should be a little more like a teenager. She is 17 after all.
King Tiberias VI is alive and develops a good father-son relationship with Maven. He is willing to change the nation for Reds.
The book alternates between Mare's and Maven's point of view. Mostly Maven's.
The first chapter has original lines from Red Queen which are italicized, but it is from Maven's point of view so it is altered a little bit. Other flashbacks will also be in Maven's point of view.
