Just then you heard a loud thud on the ground and the Ruin Guard shuts down for a while. You and Diluc then carefully approach it as you raise your weapon. You swiftly strike straight into its eye and dealt a lot of damage.

The Ruin Guard stands up once more and approaches towards your companions, having the intention of attacking them.

"Diluc!" you exclaim as you bolted towards the machinery. You jump up and land a blow against the guard, Diluc didn't hesitate to help you attack, his claymore delivering more serious damage.

Then Paimon starts cheering and basically becomes the hypeman of the battle.

You summon extreme wind currents as Diluc sends a fiery phoenix that intersects with your tornado, causing both elements to merge and forge into a massive fire hurricane. It charges towards the guard and took a lot of its health.

'Woah, combined element attacks are so cool up close!'

You and Diluc worked together, you both help each other successfully. Once the Ruin Guard was defeated and stumped on the floor with teardrop crystals, you pick up the crystals and started to help heal Diluc with some packed food with the help of Paimon.

You both then recover from the battle and walked back to Dawn Winery.

"Well, that was intriguing yet frightening." you let out a chuckle.

"Yes, you should've seen how your flaming tornado destroyed that Ruin Guard! Like WHAM! Oh, Paimon loves you and Master Diluc's teamwork!" Paimon gushes.

"It was nothing. Though I do have to say that (Y/n)'s capabilities works wonders during battles." Diluc says as he sheathes his claymore and walks alongside you.

"Cool. Now Paimon wonders what would happen if Master Diluc and (Y/n) were to ever become a team." your companion tilts her head at you.

"That'd be an interesting team if it ever happens." you reply as the Dawn Winery came into view.

"Maybe one day it'll happen, and if it does, you owe Paimon a free meal!" Paimon says in a cheeky tone. "Pay for me, okay?"

You let out a playful scoff. "Alright, deal."

The three of you fell into idle chat until you reached the Dawn Winery. The group assembled and the hunt for teardrop crystals was finished. You gathered with the group along with their crystals.

"Dvalin Protection Squad, Assemble!" Paimon cheers.

"Let's put our crystals together. Oh..." Venti stares down at the collective tears. "The colors of these crystals look... muddy. Dvalin... You're in so much pain..."

He shakes his head and focuses on the matter at hand.

He holds out the tainted crystals. "Let's start purifying these crystals first. Please, (Y/n)."

You purify the crystals once more. The process itself was satisfying to look at. But you couldn't help but wonder how on Terra you got this power. The crystals glowed a bright teal as it was purified.

"Interesting. It's like filtering wine. The process is... refreshing." Diluc comments.

Venti nods. "I think we should have enough tears now. So next we use the crystals on the Holy Lyre."

"Let me give it a try.." you manage to repair and power up the Holy Lyre using the crystals. It radiated a youthful glow.

'Huh, it seems like I still have the powers of the MC. Does that really mean I took the role of..?'
