Serenity looked towards the school in front of her. Knowing that today everyone was going to crowd around her and bombard her with questions

Olivia sat in the seat next to her, looking up from her phone quickly to talk to her "sister"

"serenity?" she asked, putting her phone down slowly. Serenity snapped out of her thoughts, turning towards olivia, "cmon liv, no time for questions" serenity sighed while grabbing her backpack

"Miss serenity baker has arrived" JJ smiled at the girl who had walked into the classroom, eyes on her phone that she tried to cover herself with

"JJ" she snapped, slapping him upside the head as she sat down, "how are you?" he asked, a genuine, concerned tone in his voice

"you know the answer to that" she whispered once she saw her best friend walk into the room, he looked normal but deep down she knew he was not ok, the act he put up wasn't going to last long

"just dont engage with him" JJ grabbed a granola bar from his backpack, not making eye contact with the girl, "mhm, no engaging" when JJ looked away from her, she took a quick glance over to the dirty blond haired boy

He sat in a seat where no one was, a notebook, pencil and computer out in front of him as he typed away, paying no attention to anything or anyone around him

"serenity, are you coming to practice later?" JJ asked, serenitys head quickly snapped around to look at him, "sorry JJ, I can't today" she lied as the teacher started to talk

Serenity took any chance she could to get away from anyone today, as the last bell rang indicating she could leave she took it, speed walking to her car, music blared from her speakers as she drove in silence home, focusing her thoughts on the music

"hey honey" laura smiled as her adoptive daughter walked through the front door, backpack in hand, "how was school?" laura handed her an apple

"eh fine, i stayed away from people, god it felt good not to act perfect for once" she flopped onto the couch, "Why dont you just act like yourself? It will feel so much better serenity" laura stated

"its hard when your brother is qb1 for the football team and is practicly the most popular guy in school and your also suppose to have this perfect reputation" she complained

"You need time away from people Serenity, now I got to go, tell Jordan and Olivia I'll be home later" Laura grabbed her purse and keys and headed out before a goodbye could escape Serenitys lips

She smacked her head onto a pillow with frustration, a ding was heard from her phone that sat 4 feet away, glancing up quickly to see the notification

could ever make up for my actions

Asher you hurt me in ways I didn't know someone could, my best friend revealing one of our secrets because of being drunk, are you trying to become your dad? Or even worse when Avery came to town and forced all that stuff on you to try and change yourself?
Asher I know your better than that and it just hurt seeing you pick up those canisters, but nothing could ever make up for that and you realize it because it got you kicked off the football team and you lost your best friend
