Sunday, April 11th
Alice woke up feeling small taps on her upper arm. She turned her head to see Kal sitting by her side, grinning.
"Finally, I thought I slept heavy," She chuckled.
Alice attempted to rub the sleep from her eyes. "What time is it?" She noticed Kal was already dressed for the day.
"A bit past noon," She shrugged, but then saw Alice's expression and laughed. "Sorry, I just know how much work you've been doing to settle with Will. Thought you deserved a few extra hours."
"Well, I appreciate it I suppose," She sighed. "But I can sleep when I get there, I'd like to make the most of my time here."
"New York isn't all that great, we'll have more fun when we go see Karl," Kal assured. "Gray made breakfast by the way, you better like waffles."
"Love waffles," She nodded.
"Get your ass outta bed then," Kal said in a joke-serious tone as she got up to leave. "Karl called too by the way, he's excited."
"I can only imagine," Alice hummed as she envisioned Karl hopping around and giggling like a maniac.
"I'll be out there, we can do whatever when you're ready," Kal told her.
"Alrighty."
Once Kal was gone, she took a moment to remember her dream. Or dreams, per say. She couldn't remember the last time she dreamt about her childhood. With Technoblade, no less.
It was like her mind was torturing her, reminding her of what she was leaving behind.
But she wasn't leaving him, she corrected herself. Nothing would change but the distance. He was still her best friend.
Alice pulled her phone out once she finally woke up properly. She had a missed call from Wilbur and a string of texts along the lines of "call me but don't worry it's not bad it's really good and exciting."
She clicked the button and waited for him to pick up, which was never much of a wait.
"Alice! You slept in huh?" He said as he answered.
"The bunk beds are better than I thought they'd be," She chuckled. "What's up? Your texts were pretty vague."
"Yeah, sorry about that," He said sheepishly. "Tommy and I are gonna do something cool tomorrow and I want to brag."
"Please, brag away," Alice smiled as she went through her suitcase for an outfit.
He told Alice all about Tommy's plan to visit Vikkstar. Wilbur would be his babysitter for the day, so he'd be tagging along as well. He sounded happy, so it put Alice in a good mood.
"Did you actually sleep better in the bunk beds?" He asked once he was done talking about himself.
Alice considered telling him about her dreams, but decided against it. He'd probably feel guilty that he was the reason she was moving away from him. She would tell him eventually, just maybe not now.
