The dark grows and the bluish tinge the moon sets cover her rosy cheeks.  Skating on lake Louise at midnight doesn't sound dangerous. Her dark skin marvels in the light.

"Why are you drinking that?"

"Hmm. Your just jealous that I got one without you huh?" She takes another sip.

She's strange, very strange. The mountains failed to give her the chills, the woman is still drinking the cold brew. The smell of the drink lulls me to move closer to her.

She catches me looking at her, I look away, the heat crawls up my neck. Her breaths puff up and get swept by the slight breeze. But I can't help but look again.

Hers on mine as well. I inhale a spike of frigid air.

Her eyes ablaze and wide open. My hands are stiff in hesitation. The box in my pocket gains my attention.

I try to open to say some words. I look stupid.

We continued to stare at each other as it felt like the world was watching in awe.  A silent nudge of the wind makes me reach for my pocket. A moment for us.

I pull it out. Her eyes don't leave mine. Just the wind and us. The click of the small palm sized box made the World stopped in for the climax.

The world
Hushed.
And Waited.
For us.

The audience crooned over their seats.

Her.
Mouth slightly gaped. Then closes.
The slight murmurs swayed through.

My mouth drys further. My throat constricting by the second. Excepting the shame and guilt, my eyes hovers down in embarrassment. The heat is beyond searing. I felt the wind chuckle.

Then a crackle of ice parting stops me. I soft hand grazes my cheek. I look into her eyes one more time to be met with watery ones. I let a light laugh. My elated heart pumps faster.

No words were exchanged.
It was not needed.
I knew she was mine and I hers.

The world didn't indeed laugh but instead cheered.

The curtains closed that night on lake Louise with a
standing ovation.
