Despite the new life being shoved in her face, she eventually adapted— though the thought of Alina had always persisted in the back of the girl's mind as she lived her days in this strange isolation from the rest of the world. Until the day Alina Starkov herself, claiming to be a Sun Summoner, returned to the Palace with Kirigan, that is. Issoria could hardly believe her eyes— her childhood best friend was back. Only, this wasn't the happy reunion she had hoped it would be. Because Alina wants out. And Issoria's leaving with her.
