NO MATTER HOW MANY times you shut your eyes, all you could see was Eren. He was the only thing occupied in your mind during the time you isolated yourself in your room.
Sasha and Isabel had no clue what was happening. Not even Armin. But they all noticed how Eren's been distant lately. It was like he didn't want to talk to any of them and especially not you, but they didn't assume that.
They asked if Eren had contacted you and if you two were doing okay. And you would respond that everything was perfect between the two of you— when in reality, it wasn't at all.
No one knew that you two had broken up and no one knew you were deeply hurting by that occasion. You kept your casual smile and tone around the others, hoping that they wouldn't suspect anything unordinary from you. And when you're finally alone behind your locked bedroom door, you would sink into a puddle of your own tears.
It's been a while since you've cried. It's what you practically did the entire time you locked yourself in your room, besides sleeping and wishing everything was just a nightmare.
You're still confused, devastated and agitated more than you've ever been. You've been through break ups before, but this one, pained you the most. Sometimes you would imagine it all just being a dream and that you would wake up in his embrace, being greeted by his sweet kisses. But somewhere inside, you knew this was real.
You had no idea how you got the courage to return back to your apartment. That's the place where you made almost the most memories with Eren. Pictures of him and you two together clipped on walls or framed, presents received from him and items you both got together resided there.
Some girls when they break up with someone would take them down, but you didn't. Someone out there would probably think you were idiotic for keeping things of your significant other around that hurts you. But you couldn't get the courage to put them away and your housemates would've questioned why you taken them down too.
