Bong yi was on her usual way to school when she suddenly heard some voices.

"Oh no, there he goes again," a voice said with a big sigh and then it was followed by a retching sound.

"God, that's already the third time." Another voice muttered. She turned the corner and saw three police officer's standing around, one of them was obviously just been vomiting.

"We are going back to the station to report this. After you're done go around the neighbourhood and ask around if anyone saw something." The oldest of the three said.

"Yes, of course" the third one said slightly waveringg, still looking somewhat pale.

He bowed to his seniors and when they were gone, he turned around and nearly bumped into her.

"Oh, sorry." he said, just stopping in front of her. He was still looking pale and sweaty, his eyes slightly teary, probably from the force of the vomiting. She saw that there was still a bit of vomit on his chin.

"You got something here." She said pointing at her chin.

"Oh, thank you." He was about to wipe it away when she stopped him.

"Here use this." she said and handed him her handkerchief.

He looked at her with surprise in his eyes and then a radiant smile broke out.

"Thank you." He said sincerely and used it to clean off his chin.

"You can keep it". Bong Yi said when he wanted to give it back.

"Something happened to make you sick?" She asked, thinking that it was mean from his co workers that they left him here when he has just been sick.

He blushed slightly and said with an embarrassed smile
"There was a dead cat, when I saw it I just got sick."

She looked at him in surprise. A cop that gets sick when he sees a dead animal. That didn't seem very promising.

"Ah, I have to go to school." Bong Yi said, looking at her watch "Goodbye." She said. He waved her off and went further with his duties, while she hurried over to school.

The next time Bong Yi saw him it was just after school.
It was starting to rain and Bong Yi could feel her stomach starting to churn. After all those years, she still couldn't stand the rain.

She knew her grandmother couldn't come today, so she manned up and started to walk home.

On her way home her classmate who always bullied her 'accidentally' bumped into her. She fell to her knees and she could feel the sting from the gravel on the ground.

"Hey, watch we're you re going." The girl said to her, but before she could retort another voice interfered,

"You should watch where you are going, you bumped into her".

She looked up and saw the same cop from. The other girl looked surprised and slightly shocked at the sudden appearance of the police officer.

"I'm sorry, it was an accident." Her classmate said, while looking at the cop.

The cop held out his hand for Bong Yi to help her up, which she ignored. She stood up herself without any help.

"It's not me you have to apologize too." He said.
The other girl looked a bit sour but she apologized to Bong Yi

"I'm sorry, it was an accident." The other girl bowed in the slightest inclination that could be still considered polite and ran off.

"Are you okay". The police officer asked her when they were alone.

"I'm fine" she said, putting her hands in her pockets and continuing on her way.

He followed her.

"Why are you following me?" she snapped at him.

"I'm just making sure you get home safely," he said, "the weather is getting bad and you fell pretty hard".

"Whatever." she grumbled. Secretly she was glad that he had joined her. The weather scared her and her grandmother wasn't home for the moment so she couldn't help Bong Yi today.

She hurried home and he kept on following her in the rain, keeping a respectful distance, both getting soaked through in the process.

When they arrived at Bong Yi's home she wanted to say goodbye, but he interrupted her before she could say anything.

"Oh, your knees, they're bleeding." She looked down and she saw the blood soaking the top of her socks.
She hadn't noticed it with the rain.

"Let's sit down." He led her to sit down on the porch under the roof. Since the door was already opened light was streaming out.

"I got some disinfectant here with me." And he carefully applied the ointment on her wound, "and to finish off." Then he pulled out a silly goatman band-aid and put it on her knee.

"See, it will get all better now." Bong Yi blinked when he smiled at her, as if he were a puppy waiting to be praised.

She blinked, not knowing to react. So she just pulled back.

"Yeah, whatever. Pff." She got up to go inside.

"Wait a moment, before I forget." He said when she reached the door. She looked back and he took something out of his pocket.

"Here, I cleaned it. I was carrying it with me hoping to see you again." And he handed back her handkerchief, washed, ironed and perfectly folded.
She took it from his hands.

"Can I know your name?" he asked.

"It's Oh Bong Yi."

"Oh Bong Yi, thank you for helping me out." He said, smiling at her.

He bowed and went away.

"Wait, what's your name.

"Jung Ba Reum. Wait, here is my card, since I'm assigned to the neighbourhood, feel free to call me whenever you have a problem." Then he went away.

She held the card and the handkerchief close to her.
