Hoff, Braverman, and Tensley has a meeting with Legal Aid today.
They wanted me to join them.
"Is she getting sick again?"
"Yeah."
"How many times has it been this week?"
"Whatever she eats comes back up. So, two times a day."
"I swear-- I'm done eating for awhile."
"That's definitely safe." Garrett whispered to me.
"Callie, it's your turn to take notes for the meeting." The male research assistant told her.
"Great."
Callie walked into the meeting room.
A realization look appeared in her eyes.
She masked it with her emotionless mask.
"Oh, my God." It was Theresa.
"You're probably right. I'm not entirely sure myself."
"You need to find out soon. It's not something you can put off."
"Technically, I can. It's really nobody else's business."
"What has made you so cold? I would really like to know." Garrett asked.
"Well, that's the mystery of me. Nobody can figure it out until I tell them. Which isn't gonna happen."
"Is it Daddy issues?"
"No. I have two of them, so..."
"Is it Mommy issues?"
Callie stood up.
She walked out of the meeting room.
"I have no idea what that was about."
"Callie!"
"I have to go up to San Diego for a few days. I'll be back. Consider that my leave of absence."
"Uh-huh."
Callie left, letting the door slam behind her.
"Gary, it's your turn!"

I got in my car.
I started the drive to San Diego.

"So, let's get to the bottom of this." I told him.
"Uh-huh."
"We need your help, Marcus." I explained to him.
"Uh-huh."
"What the activists told the tenants yesterday about building a mental health Jail was false. Somebody had the wrong information." I lied.
"Huh. Well, I guess in that case, I side with you guys."
"Mm."
"So, basically you just called your girlfriend a liar?" Garrett questioned as we walked out.
"It got him to side with us."
"Callie is gonna lose it."
"Probably."
