Starr
I will not blush.
Starr Knight Taylor does not blush. She does not let her cheeks pink at compliments from hot guys. She definitely does not fall in love at first sight. Why am I thinking about love? What is happening right now? I could feel my palms begin to sweat with nervousness.
I need to get away from them.
Dear God, what have you done? What do I do? What am I supposed to say? Should I say a prayer for you in hopes you'll help me?
Okay fine, Thank you for creating these beautiful beasts, I love you God, but I feel like I need some damn instructions with what you just sent me. Not that I'm complaining, but these faces would make demi-gods cry.
I wish Lala was here. I wish anyone of my siblings were here to say something to these guys so I wouldn't feel like I lost my touch of being cool. It's like all the things in my mind shut off due to the hormone override system in my body.
There are a shit ton of students in this school, and I wasn't going to go through all of their files to know who's who. Now I kinda wish I did. I focused on some main cliques, and I did not see them in any. Who are these guys?
"What's your name love?" The boy in front of me asked, his voice making my heart beat faster than it already is. Come on Starr, give em' nothing and have em' wanting.
"Now why should I tell you?" My voice husky, needing some damn water to cool me down.
The two on each side of him chuckled darkly like they found this amusing, maybe it was. Maybe I was a target for them, something to play with, someone to claim. Well, they thought wrong. I don't let people mess with me or my family.
"Playing hard to get?" He asked.
"Why not? I love a game of cat and mouse. Although,....with the extra players," I said looking at the other two before landing my eyes back on hot guy #1. "I'm not sure what I would call it." Maybe a game of tag?
"Connect 4?" Hot guy #3 said, his green eyes filled with mischief. "All games are made up babe, take your pick on what you want to call it. Just don't go thinking we play by any rules."
Damn his voice, I swear my panties have never been more hydrated. The loud ring of the bell sounded above, telling us that first period was to begin and reminded me of what I'm supposed to be doing. That's putting this school back on course, stopping the drugs passing through here, and finding out about the funds that once again has been going missing. Also, upgrade the place because...what were we thinking?
I feel like my whole plan to complete our high school mission is now compromised because I can't seem to get a grip on my hormones, and it all happened between the front doors and first period.
"Rules? Now where would the fun be if we set rules..babe?" I smirked at him and pushed myself between Hot guy #1 & 2. Loving and hating the sparks that shot through me at their faint touch. "Catch me if you can." I voiced over my shoulder as the hallway of teenagers ate me up from their view.
Oh dear baby Jesus I can breathe now.
I hurried through to get to homeroom. I pushed myself in the maze of bodies and smiled at everyone that greeted me. Okay, not everyone, but most of the guys here were cute. I stepped into the class that was starting to fill and made my way towards the back.
The desks were nicely rowed up to fit at least 30 students. All of the classes we're taking got extra seats just for us. I picked a seat at the back corner and rested my right ankle on top of my left knee and crossed my arms after setting my bag on the floor.
Now to think on what just happened. Did I just call him babe? Starr Taylor does not do pet names and certainly does not ignore rules. I like rules. Following rules is smart, right? I watched as students started filing in as I was lost in thought. "Catch me if you can?" Ugh, I sound like daddy Luke.
"Hey sexy, saving a seat for me?" I looked up towards the nasally voice, seeing a tall boy with dirty brown hair that napped around his neck. He was more on the lean side with broad shoulders and an eyebrow piercing. He had brown eyes and a sharp nose. His teeth were popcorn yellow and he smelled like cheap cigarettes. His clothes were all black like he was ready for a rock concert.
Side note....he was ugly.
It's like you know and can spot an ugly guy, especially the way they start up a conversation. My instincts told me this guy was going to annoy me, and I needed to put him in his place. Especially the way his flunkies are watching our interaction. They were ugly too.
"I don't even know who are, why would I save a seat for you?" I said sweetly. A baby barf burned my throat as I watched how he checked me out. He stood against the desk next to me and I could taste his eagerness to speak more.
He laughed like what I said was so funny, "I'm Matt."
"Well Matt, you just stole 10 seconds of my life and my thoughts. So why don't you go place your ass between your friends and sulk about a girl that isn't interested." Okay, okay, I was being a total bitch right now, but I really didn't want to get hit on. Especially now when I was curious of the three gorgeous musketeers that caged me in.
Just when he was about to reply, Rydian 'accidentaly' pushed him aside and took the seat on my left. I was so glad I had him in all my classes. Maybe because we didn't care for the particular classes that would be seen on a college application. Me and Rydian already told mom and dad's that we didn't want that route. Probably because we were the only ones that didn't know what we wanted once we turned 18 and finished this high school experience.
"This guy bothering you Starr?" He asked in Russian. Glaring at Matt.
"I got it under control. Thanks," I said giving Rydian my full attention and ignoring the creep as he stood there not knowing what to say. "So, you having fun?" I asked. Rydian chuckled matching my pose. Matt frowned at our language and headed back to his group, obvious that we weren't going to talk to him again.
"These wildcats are crazy. Didn't find one that caught my eye though." I smile at his tone happiness, agreeing with him. "What about you?" I loved that we didn't keep secrets from each other, it made our relationships with each other tight.
I thank our dad's for that. They always told us how they trusted each other with everything, and that we were lucky to be born into a healthy family. Even thought they missed out on 7 years, they made it up by giving us everything. From daddy North's over protectiveness to daddy Raven's love for craziness. A small pain tugged at my heart, I'm missing them already and the day barely started.
"I didn't find anyone that caught my eyes either, but apparently I caught theirs." I smirked at him.
"Theirs?" He asked raising a brow. I turned my head back to the front of the class before he saw my stupid blush. But I guess I wasn't fast enough, he got the message and tipped his head back with a roar of laughter.
I was dead if this got back to dad. No scratch that, I was worm food marinated in embarrassment. They would probably feast on my soul long after my bones have disintegrated.
"I think coming here is going to be worth it now." Rydian said, his voice still full of laughter as he pulled out his phone to text Kade, or Shiloh. Probably both.
I smiled and shook my head, I have no comment.
