I was about to hit Leah since she was getting on my last nerves.
"You're not gonna hit me."
"Don't tempt me."
She walked out of our room.
I was trying to keep my anger at bay in front of Aleeah, Ali, and Addie.
"Jeremy, Aleeah is being mean!" Ali told me.
"Aleeah, what are you doing to Ali?"
"Nothing."
"Aleeah, I told you to stop lying to Daddy and Jeremy."
"No!"
"Aleeah Grace, room! Now!"
"God. I hate you so much."
"Today, you do." I told her as she walked pass me.
Aleeah pulled a face at me.
"She's delightful."
"She is so rude to the both of them."
"I wonder where she gets it from."
Ali and Addie were running around.
"Ali, be careful!"
"I am."
"I have to watch her. You know that. Don't start already."
I stared after her as she walked away.
Leah's phone rang.
"Hello?" She greeted, answering it.
"Leah." It was Miranda.
You could tell she was upset.
"What happened?"
"I lost the baby."
"Oh, my God. That's terrible."
"Are you being sarcastic?"
"No. Because I know what it feels like."
"No, you don't."
"Yeah, I do. Actually. And it is not your fault. Does Corey know?"
"No."
"Well, I can come over in a little bit. Be there with you."
"Okay."
"Alright. I'll see you soon."
"See you soon."
"Bye."
"Bye."
Miranda hung up.
"You get rid of me until Corey comes home. Give you time to calm the hell down."
"Take your little monster with you."
"Aleeah, come help me cheer Miranda up!"
"Okay, Mommy!"
Aleeah ran out of her room.
"Tell Jeremy "Bye."
"Bye, Jeremy."
"See you later, Aleeah."
"And watch Addie. Please."
Leah left with her.
You heard Ali and Addie laughing.
I stood in Ali's doorway.
They were playing with Barbies.
