Hey guys, I'm back! At least for now since I'm very up and down with the writing motivation at the moment. I'm extremely sorry about how long I was gone and without warning as well. I should've said something but I always thought I'd get a chapter done or something...and didn't.

Anyway, here it is. At long last.

A year and a half ago...

Jisung and Chenle enthusiastically met up most mornings for the following weeks. The chipper pair gathered a lot of attention at the park with one loud and excitable while the other seemed more reserved...if a little awkward. Both glowed with gorgeous smiles and appeared to write their own stories rather than slot into conventional societal rolls. If they wished to laugh loud enough that the bottom of the pond could hear, they would. If it was raining and Chenle still wanted to wear noodle-strap tops and shorts, she would. Life was too short to glance over their shoulders to catch the looks, and they knew that.

One morning, like any other, Jisung arrived at the park just on time to take Chenle to work. It was a pretty decent day already with the forecast predicting a heatless sun and a late evening sunset to look forward to. The brunette chuckled to himself when he spotted his friend before poking a specific nerve on the young girl's back and making her squeak before stumbling forward.

"Ji?!" She coughed, turning around and clutching a dry bagel to her chest. It was peeling away, probably from getting plucked and thrown to the water's surface. Her magnificent and expressive eyes were wide with bewilderment before she settled and broke off half the bread for him. "Morning. And don't scare me like that, what if I had fallen in?"

"Morning. I don't think falling in would've been so bad. Something tells me you look peaceful and cinematic under the rain."

"You're making that shit up," Chenle huffed and chucked a lump of the bagel down now that they needed to hurry. "Make-up running, hair tangling, clothes sticking to my clammy skin. I don't think so."

Clothes sticking to skin, Jisung hummed inwardly and nodded to himself, still sounds good to me.

"Let's get going. I think the manager is dropping by the shop this morning, so I wanna have everything ready to go before he gets there." They tossed the rest of the bread into the water for the curious ducks and made off for the streets. Lele flicked her long braid over her shoulder and smiled into the sun rays adorning her cheeks.

The sidewalks were alive with people going about their daily routines. Outdoor seating for cafés sent the intoxicating aroma of ground coffee beans and croissants towards the pedestrians while delivery trucks choked exhaust fumes as they pulled away from small-time convenience stores. The two late-teens were nearly holding hands they were so close, and although they'd never voice it aloud just yet...they really wanted to make that jump. Their shoulders brushed repeatedly and it brought a small blush to the shorter's cheeks since she had a thin-strapped yellow top on exposing her arms. Jisung fortunately rotated the same few shirts and borderline beach-shorts week after week so he couldn't feel the skin contact that would've made this worse.
