It seemed hours had passed as Renjun finally awoke yet again, but this time better rested and far more in his right mind. Fuck, he blinked, glancing over his shoulder towards the window which had been painted in a rich tangerine light with puffs of pink shrouding the sunset. Double fuck. He'd definitely slept for longer than intended.

Hell, he hadn't intended to sleep at all.

"Hi," a soft, deep-with-sleep voice hummed from in front of him. Renjun tilted his gaze back to the broad shoulders hiding Mark from him and chewed his lower lip. He hadn't thought this far ahead...perhaps because this was never on the agenda.

"Hi."

The ravenette didn't turn to look at him, didn't even move an inch to stretch after a long afternoon nap. He just stayed like that, distant. "What brings you back, hm? Missed me...?"

At first the younger adult wanted to spill a hundred excuses and a hundred more apologies, all of them resting at the tip of his tongue while he edged onto his side again and stared at those shoulders longingly. He wanted to tease the tension out of them with his own hands and play with his hair like he had once upon a time. And yet, what he said surprised even himself. "Yes." So airy and weak.

Mark flinched, tucking his legs further into his foetal position as he possibly stared at the far wall. "Why did you really come back, Renjun? This looks bad for me."

The blonde-ravenette started to play with the drawstring of his hoodie and stared into nothing as he tried not to feel the sting of how hurt those words were. He'd done this to them and himself, and he had no right to lick his own wounds. "I don't know..." he murmured with rough, cracking vocals. "I don't know why I came in here. Your door was ajar, and I was upset, and...I don't know."

"If the others see you in here, they'll flip out. You know them as well as I do by now."

"Mark, please listen to me," Renjun insisted with a little more strength before sitting up and resting on his arm to look down over the elder's side. He could barely see his face from there, but it didn't matter. He'd listen. "I never wanted this, okay? All of you, I never intended to lose you in the process."

"It doesn't matter now."

"But it does," he begged, grabbing onto the taller's firm bicep and struggling to swallow the lump in his throat. "You know it does. We don't have to part ways here and forget it all ever happened. We don't have to do that, Mark."
