i just wanted to be pretty

i just wanted to be pretty.
a skinny person with legs like chopsticks,
a beautiful person with ribs sticking out,
a perfect person with obvious cheekbones and collarbones seen from every angle,

i hate to admit it but i wanted the comments,
'eat a burger'
'your legs look like they're gonna snap'
'theres nothing on you'
'i don't wanna hug you so hard i might break you'
'when was the last time you ate'
I wanted the attention

but here i am,
dizzy, disoriented, scared
leaning over the toilet with a throat on fire,
and an excellent knowledge of calories
i just wanted to be pretty.
