Sound Nights - A poem on resilience

Long days running on ground,

busy bee buzzing around.

Thoughts can be loud,

similar to energy burning through a crowd.

Thoughts can also be quiet,

and silence the riot.

So I sleep...

But dishes collect,

there is nothing to protect.

Crusted and dried,

she still tries to hide.

Days turn into weeks,

all she feels are the creeks.

She's not typing or writing,

life is no longer exciting.

She sits. Longing away -

Searching, searching for a better day.

So I sleep...

How can she cope?

Perhaps there is hope!

So she finds meaning

and she's finally cleaning.

She is no longer hurting,

are thoughts really turning?

She's learning,

feels her soul burning!

So I sleep...

Fills up her plate,

then finds she is late.

She cuts on sleeps,

orders Uber Eats.

Gets irritable and tired,

does not want to get fired.

Knows about the stigma,

why does it feel like an enigma?

Decides to name it...

She wants to blame it.

Because now she is yearning,

her soul is no longer burning.

So I sleep...

Pulls up her socks,

decides it's time for talks.

Tries to be fair,

practice self-care.

Goes out with friends,

because her insides have made ammends.

So I sleep...

Wakes up refreshed,

feeling enmeshed.

Happy because of the purpose,

yet starts to get nervous.

Oh no — not again -

so she decides to pick up a pen.

Thoughts go quiet in her head,

it is now time for bed.

So I sleep...
