TROCON MILLER (POV)

"You are coming back home next month, right?" Dad asked. " I'm not sure; I love it here. Why would anyone want to leave London for Liberia, Dad?" I mumbled. "It's been a little over six years since you graduated. I want you to come home and take over the law firm—no additional justification from you, young man. I'm paying for your tickets." Dad said as he hung up.

How do you tell your Liberian father that you have been living a lie? My parents would be disheartened if they discovered that their only son would inherit their properties and the law firm didn't study law. I flew to London years ago to study law. My parents are lawyers, and they want me to take after them. I wouldn't say I like stress, so I switched my major to business without telling them. My dad wants me to take over his law firm. What do I know about the law?

After being disturbed by my dad's early morning phone call, I showered and dressed for a date. London has been going so easy on me. I'm famous and can get any girl I want anytime.

As I opened the door, I felt a buzz on my thighs. It was my phone ringing in my pocket. I answered, and it was my mom calling. "Hi, mom.'' '' Trocon, do you think we grow wealth on trees over here? Your dad and I are struggling to ensure you get the life you deserve, but you are busy lavishing our resources in London?'' She growled. " It was some dollars, Mom! I want to have fun!" I answered. " My young man, next month is too far! You are coming home next week!"

My mom seemed so angry over the phone. Going home was my worst nightmare, but I had to do as my parents said. Mom's phone call ruined my entire day, so I walked back into my bedroom, shut the door, stomped into my bed, and covered my head.

UNIQUE (POV)

"Mama, you are going to make me late if you keep fixing my hair," I whined. "Your hair is your crown; don't let it slip." Mom sang her everyday song to me.

Today, I start my internship at Liberia's most prestigious Millers's Law Firm. I have worked so hard for this day to come. It was like a dream come true. My mom and I prayed as always.

"God, I command the Holy Spirit to activate every temptation that might come my way today," I said in my everyday prayer.

The traffic was tremendous, as always, but I still found a way to make it to work early.

I finally reached and stood before the law firm. "This is it Unique! Go get it!" I said to myself.

I was in shock when I entered the office. It looked so unreal. "Good things come out of Liberia, too," I told myself. I felt a tap on my shoulder; it was Mrs Miller. "Hello, are you the new intern?" she asked.

"Yes, ma'am, I'm Unique Woods," I said unsteadily. "You look as Unique as your name." she complimented me as she walked away.

I can't explain how I was feeling when my boss complimented me. I could feel God doing his thing for me. A wide smile made its way to my face. I followed her down the hall to inquire about the work I was supposed to get done. 'Excuse me, Mrs Miller; sorry for the bother.' I said as she looked at me in confusion. "Yes, Unique. Do you need something?" she answered. " Can you please tell me what I need to start working on?" I said. "Don't count your chickens before they hatch." she jokingly said. "There's a lot to do, but I'm on my way to pick up my son from the airport. Come along to help with his things," she said. "Sure, ma'am," I answered.

I wonder if this woman takes me for a nanny. I'm here to do office work, not housework, but the first impression goes a long way, so I accepted her offer.

We hopped into her white limo and drove to the airport.

I was standing by the car as she walked up to this handsome-looking guy. She hugged him and took one of his bags. "Unique, come help, please," she called. "Who's supposed to help with your son's bag?" I mumbled.

I walked up to them. He dashed the heaviest bag on my leg. "What are you thinking? Do you wanna hurt me?" I let out a scream. "Aren't you doing your job?" he said aggressively. " No, sir. How about you watch how you talk to me?" I replied.

"Hey, hey, cut it off, you two." Mrs Miller interrupted our little fight. " Unique, this is my son Trocon, and Trocon, this is Unique, she's an intern at the law firm.

I left his bag on the ground and entered the car. His mom called one of the security to put his bag at the back of the vehicle. He opened the passenger door to sit beside me, but his mom asked him to sit shotgun.

TROCON (POV)

Unique, or whatever her name was, she was a beautiful girl. She looked pretty smart with her nerdy glasses on. She seemed like a drama Queen with very queasy hospitality. Most girls would rush to hold my bag or greet me, but she didn't care that I was her boss's son. I couldn't believe she spoke to me in an aggressive tone right in front of my mom without her saying anything to this girl.

"If I have to put up with this girl all my life at the law firm, it's going to be one heck of a rollercoaster," I said.

I turned to look at her, but she rolled her eyes at me. "What a drama Queen," I mumbled.
