I never celebrated nor did a countdown for the new year all my life,
but today is an exception.
In the rooftop of my house, again we sat,
waiting for the new year to come.
"You know, you should jump right when it becomes 12 AM."
"Huh? Why?"
"So you could finally reach my head."
and so you laughed.
Oh, silly bambi.
"You're 6ft hee, even if jumping on new year makes me taller, becoming similar to your height will make me ugly." I chuckled lightly.
But instead of laughing with me, you face me with a small frown.
"How come being a 6ft girl makes you ugly?"
"It would feel out of proportion, I don't know. I'll seem manly?"
And then you caressed my waist, and we both stood up.
"Even if you're 6ft tall— or even taller, you'd be the most beautiful girl in my eyes."
You said after pecking my lips.
And just then, the first firework boomed in the sky.
It exploded into a bright yellow colour.
"Happy new year, Hee."
"Happy new year, baby."
And so, we let our lips dance together,
all while fireworks lit up the pitch black sky.
I broke the kiss, and looked upon your starlit eyes.
Colours of booming fireworks illuminated your face,
and even if they were all loudly exploding,
I heard none of it as time slowed down.
With you, it always has.
I should be grateful of time for stopping in moments like this,
because only then could I deeply appreciate your handsome face,
your sharp nose,
and your doe eyes, who held the universe.
I wouldn't catch the two heart shapes in your eyes as you look at me lovingly,
if not for the fact that you were very eager to show them to me.
I ended the year with a beautiful memory,
and I'm excited to start a new one with you,
