Today is a remarkable day.

It marks the day that I first met you, Heeseung.

I can't believe it's been a year ever since you came into my life.

Gosh, I really couldn't believe it.

It's just like yesterday, we were just sitting next to each other by the café where we first met.

Just like yesterday— I was captivated by your starlit eyes;

I could ever so vaguely remember what I wrote about you that day.

| you were wearing a black hoodie yet your slightly curly jet black hair manages to puff out of it.

i found you very attractive,

especially when you had a genuine smile on your face. |

| I stole very little glances at you in hopes that you wouldn't notice.

You seemed so tired, just like me.

But even when you looked exhausted, you still looked like a damn masterpiece.

Even with tired eyes,

it still had so many sparkles in it.

Your bright demeanour was there again.

You were so approachable that even my introverted self was tempted to just come up and say hi. |

This was the sign of the times.

A smile curved up my lips as I sat by the exact same seat, awaiting for you.

I watched you figure leaning by the counter,

ordering the usual.

When I first met you,

you were smiling to everyone—

Ha, and I'm pretty sure that's why the former cashier fell in love with you.

Perhaps she thought you were hitting on her for always smiling ever-so-sweetly everytime we went here.

I wouldn't blame her though,

your smile was worth falling for.

....But now,

you didn't even bother doing anything for anyone else.

After getting the receipt, you turned away from the counter and walked towards me,

and only then did you put your smile on display.

They weren't as sweet as before,

you weren't as bright as you used to be,

but I know you're trying...

I know you're doing your best.

So even if this smile of yours is barely evident,

it will suffice my worries— at least, for now.
