It's my birthday today.
Each step I took gave out the happiness I'm feeling right now.
I was able to convince you to go out with me today.
God, has it felt like years ago to have gone on a date with you.
With a huge smile on my face, I skipped my steps by the pavement,
until....
I felt your presence staggering back.
I looked behind me,
and there you were,
with tired eyes and a forced smile.
Your feet were dragging you, almost as if you didn't want to come with me.
My smile immediately faltered,
but I tried to conceal the disappointment as I ran back to you and clung my arms to yours.
You must've noticed my gaze as I checked if you really were feeling forced,
because your eyes met with mine and you gave me a faint smile of reassurance.
I failed again as your lover, didn't I?
"Sorry, just tired of work."
You shortly answered.
and I nodded,
although not convinced.
Those eyes...
they're no longer the starlit ones that look at me lovingly.
Rather, they were dull and lifeless.
I know there's something you're going through right now,
and I know it's hard.
It's hard to force yourself to love me.
